DESCRIPTION:Save the date for the 36th Annual Farmstead Fair at historic Harriton House in Bryn Mawr.  This beloved community event features a full day of activities for people of all ages. \n\nAttic Treasures Sale with items donated from across the Mainline\nSummit Hill Bluegrass\nLiving Historians\nChildren’s Games\nPumpkin decoration\nRaptor Jawn’s birds of prey demonstration\nCraft vendors\nCommunity Partner information tables\nLive cooking demonstration in the 1790 kitchen\nFree tours of historic Harriton House\nBeer Garden featuring Dock Street Brewery serving seasonal brews\n\n \nThe Farmstead Fair and Attic Treasures Sale opens at 10:00 am and runs until 4:00 pm.  Admission to the Fair and parking are free.  There will also be food\, ice cream treats\, soft pretzels\, water\, and other items for sale.  No ATM available but many vendors and the Harriton Association accept credit cards\, Venmo\, PayPal\, and Apple Pay. \nFor more information or if you would like to participate as a community partner or hand-craft vendor\, please email to:  info@harritonhouse.org

DESCRIPTION:  \n \nTHIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR SUNDAY NOVEMBER 8TH AT 2:00 PM DETAIL AND TICKET LINK REMAIN THE SAME – THANK YOU! \nJoin the Harriton Association for this engaging presentation by Emily Sneff\, PhD who will discuss\, as the title of her book suggests\, how news of the Declaration of Independence spread around the Colonies and around the Atlantic world. There will be a reception and an opportunity to meet Dr. Sneff following her presentation. She will also have her book available for purchase. \nThe program begins at 6:00 p.m. and we ask that you arrive early for general admission seating. The Vaux Family Education Center in the Bank Barn Administration Building is accessible and designated handicapped parking is available directly outside the building. \nTickets are $10 per person with discounted tickets at $8.00 for members of the Harriton Association. \nPublishing for the 250th anniversary of the United States\, When the Declaration of Independence Was News focuses on the nation’s founding document at the moment of its creation in 1776\, before anyone knew what the legacy of the Declaration would be or if the United States would win the war against Great Britain. It explores how the Declaration was communicated to people in the new nation and around the Atlantic world and reveals the stories of the many people involved in the process of declaring independence\, from printers to soldiers to diplomats to translators. \nEmily Sneff\, Ph.D.\, is an early American historian and leading expert on the Declaration of Independence. She is a consulting curator for exhibitions marking the 250th anniversary of the Declaration at the Museum of the American Revolution and Historic Trappe.
