Support Us
As a non-profit organization devoted to maintaining and interpreting a historic house and grounds, The Harriton Association relies on membership fees, donations, and fundraising events, as well as grants from foundations and other funding sources.

Become A Member
The best, first way to support our work is to become a member of the Association. Other opportunities are through volunteering and outright giving in a variety of ways.
All memberships include free admission for guided tours of Harriton House (by appointment), discounted tickets to events and programs, and free admission to members only events. Memberships at the Estate level ($100) and above also include membership in the North American Reciprocal Museum Association NARM which offers reciprocal admission to its members. https://narmassociation.org/

For any of the following ways of giving, please get in touch with us to clarify procedures and let us know your plans:
Gifts of Securities
Gifts of stock are welcome and may help with your tax situation and estate planning. The electronic transfer directly to our account can be handled through your broker or financial advisor.
Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD) from an IRA
A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals who are 70½ years old or older to donate up to $105,000 total per year to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions (RMD). In this way, a donor may accrue a number of tax benefits. Check with your lawyer and/or financial advisor for details and limitations.
To make a QCD to the Harriton Association, have your donation made payable to The Harriton Association, and send it to us at P.O. Box 1364 Bryn Mawr, PA 19010
Planned Giving
There are a number of other ways of giving that can be included in your estate plan, such as annuities and bequests. A lawyer and/or financial advisor can help you to benefit Harriton through these instruments.
If you have any questions or want to discuss plans with us, please start the conversation by calling (610.525.0201) or sending in the form in the contact section.
Volunteer
As a small non-profit organization managing many varied activities, including a substantial property, The Harriton Association relies on volunteers in a number of roles.
Board membership
The Association is governed by a board of directors which oversees the smooth, fiscally responsible running of the organization. Many board members are neighbors with a vested interest in maintaining Harriton as a public park, museum, and education center. It is an active board, to which members bring a variety of expertise in support of the operation.
Harriton Farmstead Fair
The Fair is Harriton’s primary fundraising activity and its most important volunteer activity. Held on the last Saturday in September, it has become a local tradition, now in its 35th year. A full-day family event held on the Harriton grounds, the Fair features craftspeople demonstrating and selling their wares, children’s games, colonial reenactors, music, food, a beer garden, and birds of prey demonstrations by Raptor Jawn. A highlight of the Fair is the Attic Treasures sale, run by volunteers who work throughout the year, but mostly in the summer through September, sorting and pricing donations.
Other Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are welcome at Harriton on an individual basis or as a group effort. We welcome corporate volunteers, students and young adults seeking community service hours, and people who simply like to lend a hand. To learn more about volunteering at Harriton, please email to volunteering@harritonhouse.org so we can get to know you and how you would like to volunteer.
